It's a breezy, warm afternoon perfect for a father and son experience. Kite flying sounds like a good idea. Working together they design and build a kite. Colors, shapes, and artwork decorate it. Attaching it to a line, they launch it into the wind. The kite pulls the string out to its limit. Dancing and stunting, the kite plays with the clouds. Father and son smile at their accomplishment. It's a metaphor for high performing organizations. They start with a purpose: to fly a kite. All organizations need a mission. It is the reason for existence and everyone must understand it. The kite is similar to the organization's vision. You spend time designing so it will be successful. It is useless until it is put into operation. Construction requires many skills and usually a number of people. Everyone has some idea of what the kite should look like. The challenge is to put all the ideas into one distinctive design. The line to the kite is like the organization's values or principles. It provides the correctness of what we do. It ties everything together. While kite flying is one of Fred's hobbies, it's a great metaphor. Kiteline Consulting, Inc. started with a group of folks teaching organizations how to fly their own kites. Our individual experiences have merged. As requests for our time have increased we decided to launch Kiteline Consulting. At the same time Fred built his work in Self Brilliance and 5 Star Leadership. These are his kites. We enjoy flying our kites. Let us help you build yours.
